11. That old speculative Kos post has been superceded by info that has come out since that time.
And you also have some incorrect info about when and why Ari resigned. Fleischer's resignation had nothing to do with the Plame investigation because the investigation simply didn't exist at the time. Fleischer announced in May 2003, before this all went down, that he would be leaving his WH post that summer. He left the WH in July 2003. The DOJ investigation didn't start until October 2003. Fitz was appointed Special Counsel Dec 30. And there was no grand jury involved in the investigation until late Jan/early Feb 2004.

Other info that should be noted:

Ari told the grand jury he first learned about Valerie Wilson's CIA employment from Libby, then Dan Bartlett. Also said he didn't return Novak's call. He testified under a grant of immunity from prosecution. Apparently Ari will be a witness against Libby.

Armitage was Novak's first source about Valerie Wilson's employment. Rove was his other source.

The hit on Wilson and his wife was already on before Wilson went public in his July 6 op ed and the subsequent Africa trip. Libby was talking about Wilson & his wife to Judy Miller on June 23. Wanted to get the word out without tracebacks to the Administration, wanted the attribution to be to a "former Hill staffer" rather than an administration official.

The INR (State Dept) memo was available to Libby in early June and Libby also was being briefed on Valerie Wilson by the CIA and Cheney in early June also. And Libby told Ari and Rove and likely others.

The hit on Wilson, with its genesis in the Office of the VP, was in motion before Wilson went public and the trip to Africa. After Wilson went public they took it wider, but I think the emphasis on the memo on AF 1 has been more of a red herring since the info was available at least a month earlier and Libby was trying to get the Plame info into the press as early as June 23.
