mentality of party loyalty the people will never succeed, which is what Dennis implied in the speech I posted. We're all in this together and that includes every race, gender and political party.
Is the media part of it, they sure are, and they love nothing better then to play on the division, especially between political parties. We're so busy lashing out at the other party that we do not notice that those in control are robbing the common citizens from every nation. In that respect the internet can be a curse if it keeps people divided, yet it can also serve as a way to keep people informed, bypass the MSCM and find common ground with others who we may not agree with one hundred percent.
I have several friends and family members who are Republicans and who are not happy with King George, their words, yet they voted for Bush in 2000 because they normally vote Republican. The internet can help change that if people are open minded.
My vote, time and money went to Kucinich who wanted to hold people accountable and who saw that ALL people are in this together, unfortunately not enough people wanted to join the grassroots movement. Maybe another day, another person and more people need to feel pain before they decide we need a drastic change.
Going back to Iran for a moment it reminds me of the stories in the Kinzer book when people would approach Mossadegh about running for office and he would say the people are not ready, years later and he would say the people are not ready and then there came a time when so many people were living in poverty and felt disenfranchised by the system that he finally said, it is time.
Not sure how bad things will get before the majority of people have had enough and decide to buck the status quo and get behind someone who offers a whole new approach.
