Before you just try to forget this regrettable visit, I'd advise that you make sure hotel security gets you the paperwork you may need in the future--at the least, for taking a casualty/theft deduction on your 2008 income taxes.

Also, if you can talk to a lawyer without paying an outrageous fee, you may be able to get the hotel or the tour sponsors to pay for the cost of replacing the electronics etc--or at least pay for part of it.
