Hell... that's part of why I loved it there. When I missed the 'energy' of stormy weather, I could drive over to the coast and soak it up. The winds had to be from the south-southeast (up the valley) for it to get into the valley - for a thunderstorm, for example. I only remember about 2-3 thunderstorms in 15 years there.
