The show was doing quite well and had a local and national and international listenership with tons of callers.
BUT the station simply refused payment for airtime and put some canned right-wing show in his place. No more lively callers no more debate just more corpo droning.
This happens all of the time. Montel's case though is a nice public version of it.
Oh and that 1996 Tele"Con" Act certainly should be held accountable as should the elected "representatives" and administration that wrote the bill and signed it into law.
