Forty-six-year-old Leeland Eisenberg of Somersworth faces charges he held the people hostage Friday after claiming to have a bomb taped to his chest. Police said the device turned out to be road flares. His estranged wife, Lisa Eisenberg, told Foster's Daily Democrat yesterday that her husband had a drinking problem and desperately wanted to enter a detoxification program but lacked insurance and money to pay for it.She said he saw a Clinton campaign ad on TV where a man identified as Joe Ward said Clinton helped him get health insurance so his son could have a lifesaving bone marrow transplant. During the standoff with police, authorities said Eisenberg asked to speak with Clinton, but they decided not to involve her in the hostage negotiations. Eisenberg's stepson, Ben Warren, said he had talked with his stepfather for hours Thursday night.
