the OP is saying the next disaster may not happen until the Democrats control it all. However, what may make a difference is how the Dems respond to it. What really did Hoover and the Republicans in in 1932 was that they never lifted a finger to help anyone after the 1929 Crash. Remember the Bonus Marchers? Hoover sent the Army in to clear them out. When they marched again after FDR was president, he sent Eleanor to meet with them.

In the end, the response to a crises will mean more than whose fault it is.
