We have had a National Health Service for 60 years, and I will fight to the death to preserve it from those who wish to undermine it! I was in fact strongly disagreeing with the post, to which I was replying, which argued that this shows the danger of having a national health service.

And I don't want open borders or unrestricted immigration, though I do disapprove of *extreme* anti-immigration policies; of policies that discriminate against the most needy while often allowing criminals to enter without a check; and of blaming immigrants for everything that goes wrong in a country.

My point on immigration (which was perhaps not clear to those unfamiliar with the Daily Mail) is that the Daily Mail is constantly complaining about the number of immigrants to the UK, and screaming for a harder-line immigration policy - and then, when another country's immigration policy denies entry to a Brit, suddenly that becomes the ultimate in unfair discrimination! Very hypocritical of them.
