Many Maoris, it seems, are large.

But I can observe that in those two societies in particular (US and UK) the incidence of obesity has increased manyfold in recent years.

And it may have something to do with relative heavy overconsumption in those economies in particular and depletion of the planet's resources in general?

(ed. and some kind of overall dumbing-down, couch-potatoism and junk-consumption?)

Or is it just psychological?

I really would like to hear explanations/justifications for this phenomenom which, I'm sure you'll understand, can appear offensive to the many people in this world who struggle just to make two ends meet (ie. find enough to eat each day).

(ed. again, BTW I agree that the Daily Mail is not at all worth payng the slightest attention to - I am a Brit, but I haven't lived there these last twenty years).
