chat with some women outside NYC and you'll find 50-50, at best.
I sat with my jaw hanging open when my female anti-Bush co-worker stated flatly that she would NEVER vote for Hillary. I tried every line of reason to wake her as to what an awful decision it would be: Supreme Court, environment, weakening dollar, outsourced jobs, you name it.
She wouldn't budge. Why? Because she said that a woman who will turn a blind eye to infidelity is a woman of low character.
Many people, men and women, have their own reasons for disliking Hillary. And even though I will vote for her if she is the Democratic Nomine in '08, my own goes something like this.
I believe Hillary to be a relatively (not in the ways the Bushies accuse her a la Vince Foster and blather of the like) unprincipled person and a Clintonesque Triangulator.
Do not get me wrong, in a strong, healthy, vibrant democratic-republic, triangulation is a fine philosphy that builds bridges. Up against totatlitarian or neo-totalitarinan thugs like a Hitler or Bush, triangulation is in fact, giving the tyrants exactly what they want. Every time Clinton and Pelosi triangulate, expecting compromise in response, they simply lose ground and the Bushies continue on with unabated and unchanged demands. This is a commonality between Amerika (2001-?) and all the totalitarian nations before it. It is how thugs "negotiate" and compromise, and traigulators living in a nation that no longer really even exists can NEVER see that, for they are too busy imposing the template of the old, vanished nation on the new totalitarian nation. Rose-colored glasses, as it were. Wrong-colored glasses, says I, made of denial and fear.
Which is why nothing makes sense, and A no longer leads to B, as it did for the 200 years of Old America (1776-2000, RIP).
But if one considers it in THIS way, then the fact that a "pResident" with a 24% approval ratiung governs like a guy with a 99% approval rating, which seems insane and upside-down, suddenly becomes mundane and entirely explicable. Try looking at the events of the last seven years in this way (that American Republic died when Bush took it in 2000, the way the the Roman Republic died in 48BC when Caesar was GIVEN the crown by Nancy Pelosicus and Harry Reidius, I believe), and tell me if suddenly everything that has happened makes sense.
If you think Bush = the 42 Presidents of Old America, nothing makes sense.
If you think Bush = Marcos/Pinochet or any totalitarian with similarities to most every other tyrant who ever lived, sddenly, it is very easy to explain these hundreds of befuddling upside-down events.
Try it, and see if I am wrong. Call it a "Thought Experiment"
