Not only is the DMV slow with long lines, but this year I'll be renewing my DL for around $35. My SO got a divorce and was awarded the van that was in both her and her ex's name, so now she has to pay sales tax to have the title put in her name plus the title fee. It seems that the law was changed a few years back so double taxing the vehicle is allowed.
