99. Censorship need not be imposed by the government
Red Channels wasn't put out by the Government for example - the Hollywood Blacklist wasn't imposed by the Government, it was implemented by cowardly studio executives who wanted to avoid entangling with the government. In many areas it was the chambers of commerces that kept track of what businesses were not communist.

Also there's a bit of a switcheroo you are pulling isn't there? The argument isn't about you being required to listen to Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly. The issue is whether or not to punish Bruce Willis or the makers of 24 for being conservative (while, incidentally, looking down your noses at those who patronize their films/shows). More to the point there have been many threads arguing that those of us who choose to patronize such shows are somehow bad or lack a conscience.

Are you advocating that a good liberal should not patronize shows with known conservatives working at them? Are other liberals here at DU advocating that? The answer to both questions seems to be yes (although you might clarify).

Bryant
