6. I actually know quite a bit
about fundamentalist eschatology- I studied Millenarianism for 2 years. It has a fascinating history. That wasn't what my 'huh' was about. It was about the point of posting a story from this source, and about relying on this sort of explanation. And btw, although strictly speaking, millenarianism is a Christian phenomenon, scholars now apply it to any apocalyptic end time philosophy rooted in any religion, and Ahmadinejad is certainly a firm believer in apocalyptic theology himself- not unlike many of the Christians in power here.
