Bush and the Republicans spent all of the 2004 campaign talking about gaymarriagegaymarriagegaymarriage... and then the day after the election, Bush does a 180 and makes his "I have political capital and I'm going to spend it" on .. PRIVATIZING SOCIAL SECURITY! Thank goodness that did not happen, but gay marriage was the bait ... and the voters took it, and what did they get? A leader who hates govt so much that he wants to drown it in a bathtub, and seems to be succeeding through either neglect, privatization, or some combination of these forces. Katrina is the perfect example of the administration's inability or unwillingness to be effective for the people.
