To some extent I agree with you. As I've said, in and ideal world, war in and of itself would be seen as immoral.

Having said, that, yes I believe that sacrificing a larger number for an ideal is sometimes called for and yes it can be more honorable. As part of a Western society we espouse certain ideals, ethics and/or morals. Many of the nations we've gone to war with have not shared the same ideals. That doesn't mean we abandon our ideals for the sake of military expediancy. The only way I can think to make it obvious is point to what Bushco are up to now. Half their bullshit is in the name of military and political expediency to make us safer. Never mind that it's immoral, and violates every principle this country was founded on. Personally, I'll take the risk rather than violate our democratic principles. As has often been said, freedom isn't free, it requires constant vigilance, it also, sometimes, requires sacrifice.
