| 5. I question the need to assassinate a tyrant in modern times. |

That begs the question of do we have any modern day tyrants. According to the latest FISA vote from both houses of our elected Congress members, we clearly don’t have that problem here in the USA. We have a daddy or in Owelian terms a big brother that will protect us to the point that he will save us from ourselves by spying on us, torturing us, secret rendering us for our own good.
Plus, our Constitution tells us that we can impeach a tyrant, if we had one. But our Congress has clearly voted against that over and over again by stacking the SCOTUS in our daddy’s favor and by continuing to support our daddy’s authority over us. Our Congress either loves or fears our daddy so much that they will not do anything to piss him off. They want our daddy to like them regardless of the cost. Of course, if our daddy had extramarital fellatio with a consenting over-18 adult intern, then our Congress has shown that IS a line that must not be crossed by our daddy. Well, that’s only if daddy lied about THAT particular issue. How can daddy keep us safe if he’s having sex? He has to be killing people for us to know that we are safe under daddy. Our Congress doesn’t care who or why he kills or sacrifices. He’s your daddy.
The HBO Rome series is also an excellent account of a Republic in turmoil. I’m not saying that the USA has any direct parallels to that ancient empire. I do not advocate the assassination of anybody whether it is lethal or symbolic. We are presumably a government of laws that daddy selectively chooses to honor and obey at his discretion.
History is fascinating.
