There's a reason why there are locks on the common-area doors, exits and entryways into buildings. Its to keep those who have no lawful reason for being there -- OUT! This is PRIVATE property. Public areas, sure. As long as they're not presenting themselves as a public nuisance (which in my view is debatable), or restricting ingress and/or egress, or creating circumstances that may be injurious to public safety.

These people have no religious right that allows them to trespass (into privately owned common areas), nor to violate the privacy of others while exercising their religious freedoms. Privately owned common areas are common only for those with a right to use them (as would be specified in their leases). If the thumpers have no lease, they have no lawful purpose in being there. And the fact that they pushed all the buzzers in the hopes that someone, anyone would let them in, proves that they weren't there lawfully.
