7. I"m afraid your belief isn't sustained by the record
YOu believe "a majority of the country voted in the Democratic Party because they wanted us out of Iraq not matter what has to be done."

But the facts are that most Democrats running in 2006 did not run on a platform promising to get us out of Iraq "no matter what has to be done." Most ran on platforms arguing that there needed to be a change in strategy, or a redeployment. Most, like Jim Webb, did not endorse what he called "precipitous" withdrawal.

The Democrats passed a timetable bill and it was vetoed by chimpy and then the repubs made sure that veto was sustained. Yet, the public outcry about this has been, all things considered, deafening only in its silence. Under the circumstances, I don't think it is at all safe to assume that the public is all that interested in an impeachment proceeding or that they wouldn't hold it against the Democrats if that proceeding went forward on a purely partisan basis. Get some repubs to sign on, and its a whole different ballgame, imo.
