41. The Douglas Co DA holds most the keys. Not the State AG.
Georgia law limits what the state AG, State pardons and Gov can do. Nearly all the power rested with the Douglas County DA in whether or not to prosecute this case in the first place. This is a proven racist DA in a highly racist county. You are correct on the Douglas County DA's personal ego, but choosing to prosecute in the first place was ENTIRELY about racism. I personally and professionally know David McDade. In public he has the good sense to at least TRY to keep a lid on it, but the man is just short of being KKK in his actual beliefs. His record of getting blacks off the streets and in jails is what keeps him in office -- meaning the people of Douglas County WANT this kind of cretin in office.

This case is ENTIRELY about racism.
