but between them the local cops, media (local & national) and DHS (probably) had the whole eastern seaboard in a tizzy over these stupid things.
WHEREAS, if they had just shared their information, the Great Bomb Scare of 1-31-07 would have been defused in SECONDS.

When the "authorities" wig out and you see helicopters in the sky and there are armored carriers & bomb squads in the streets and there's announcements on the radio about this street that street and this other street being blocked off and they're talking about BOMBS on the TV, and all this refers to your neighborhood, your town, it's scary stuff. All you can know is what the authorities are telling you, and since it's their habit to tell you nothing that won't scare you, until they absolutely have to, you have no choice but to be scared.

The fact that they scared everybody over nothing--that deserves some mocking.
