1. Don't get me started
I've so often wanted to bring up the (failed) fight to pass the ERA these past few years--but I truly was afraid that I would be mocked and dismissed. Honestly, I don't think there are many who care about women's rights anymore. There really wasn't even much outrage here about the Supreme Court Wal-mart case, except with respect to how it affected class actions. But equality for women? That's so 70s.

I was 25 in 1975, and lived through all those bullshit arguments. I was 35 when it expired short of its goal. I realize that society has become more advanced during these past decades, but the amendment is still clearly needed. Why not try again?
