to be layered upon the current version we are living in. It's not hard to envision how that turns out. In fact, I've seen some gruesome photos of places where our checks and measures on environmental devastation, (be they anemic) present no barrier to the free reign of profit worshipers.
As we can now see, in retrospect, the corporation as we know it is just as much a tool for political influence an control as it is an economic force where profits that are skimmed off of production and collective wealth become weapons utilized skillfully to dominate, and dare I say, overthrow the very system/environment that made them possible and enabled their activities. Is their that much difference between a sudden, forceful overthrow and a painstakingly slow and methodical transformation of our system?
So, this Pinocchio of commerce has now become a real, live boy behind the corporate veil that was originally given to him for practical business reasons and to shield some forms of personal, financial liability. His Fairy God-demon has given him extraordinary powers over our lives and, barring some form of conceptual revolution as to his motives and why we enable him, his unabated activities will continue and become a powerful scourge to anyone and anything that stands in the way of his huge, new toy: a high-tech steamroller of profit.
Without a strong opposition, we face a megalithic, neo-Fascism, (2.0) on steroids with bionic limbs and an insatiable appetite and our future can easily be divined by cobbling together bits and pieces of dark and troubling dystopian nightmares from various science fiction novels.
