Sanders pointed out that Bernanke was a key economic advisor to President Bush, failed to maintain the safety and soundness of our financial system, allowed the Fed to lend out trillions of dollars in virtually zero-interest loans to large financial institutions, and has not taken adequate steps to improve the economy or seek full employment.
