It is more a political and quasi-religious issue. Under those circumstances I consider the science supporting it suspect. No more dissent is allowed. Gore said the issue is closed, no longer subject to theory, and would not let a dissenter scientist speak. Under that circumstance I especially consider the proponents suspect. Dissent would get in the way of their political goals so it must be crushed.
