278. I have no problem with any of those except one
Smoking is your own personal vice, as it is mine. Hey, if we want to kill ourselves slowly, that's our business. Same with eating meat. Shop at WalMart:shrug: not the best of coporate choices but hey, none of them are good.

Driving an SUV though is a different beast altogether. Unless you have a reason other than personal transportation, it is foolish to have an SUV. And I'm not talking the once every couple of months haul some lumber home type of reason. I'm talking farmer, rancher, construction worker etc. Real need for a hauling/towing vehicle. If you aren't such a person, then you are needlessly sucking up an ever more scarce resource, and spewing out an inordinate amount of pollution, all to take yourself back and forth for the daily grind. Sorry but public resources and public air are everybody's business, and by driving an SUV for no good reason, well, you're part of the problem, not part of the solution.

I farm, and I own a pickup. But even I, and other farmers I know around me, don't drive their trucks into work. They drive smaller cars, or in my case, a motor scooter. There is absolutely no reason to be sucking up resources that are increasingly scarce, nor to pollute an ever more dirty atmosphere.

But hey, you and I have gone over this issue before. You may be a liberal, but you still think it is your god given right to leave as big an imprint on this world as you can. How very sad. But hey, perhaps these ever increasing gas prices will convince you otherwise. It's got to hurt now filling up that Blazer at 3.00/gal. Still going to continue to drive it when gas hits 5.00/gal?

Humans are creatures of adaptation, in fact the mandate has always seemed to be "adapt or die" Well, it looks like one of those adaptation moments is occuring in our history. I'm adapting friend, what are you going to do?
