She informed me tonight that she would ride bikes with me to go to school & that she and I could start walking more places. I was really touched since this was from my 'diva' daughter who normally wants to be held in the lap of luxury.

And, since she's game for it, I think I'll take her up on riding the bikes to school. A lock for her bike while she's in class will be less than a gallon of gas -- and we could both use the added exercise.

My husband, who has a 40 mile (each way) commute to work, has started only putting in 10 gallons of fuel at a time. He doesn't even look at the price anymore or how fast the numbers turn... just gets his 10 gallons and moves on. He said that is the only way he can keep from stressing out about the added expense.
