This guy's a convicted felon, and to buy a machinegun legally you have to pass what amounts to a Secret-level government security clearance (the background check typically takes six to eight MONTHS). It goes without saying that convicted felons need not apply, and a single civilian-transferable M2 .50 caliber machinegun probably sells for more than $100,000 anyway (and it is automatically registered with the Federal government, and the BATFE gets to inspect it once a year). And C-4? You can't just go into your local hardware store and buy that...

Now it's possible that the media got it wrong and the "arsenal of machineguns" may actually be a bunch of collectibles, two or three civilian guns with handgrips that stick out, and a few BB guns; but if the media got it right, then one wonders where the HECK this guy got them...
