My memory, however, is of the morning after the election - me, on the little pink barge, screaming with rage, tearing up every campaign poster I had and knowing that, for the first time ever, I could be homocidal. I've let go of the rage but not the feeling of betrayal. Give me a decade or two. At least I no longer spit on the ground when his name is mentioned. That's progress.
