30. It should be noted Richard Henry Dana froze his butt off in San Francisco
where he met the Russian fur hunters who were almost melting from the heat - it's all perspective. It should also be noted that some copies of Two Years Before the Mast include an epilogue of Dana's revisit to California in the 1870's where he noted the weather and wind conditions had completely flipped. Some dog holes he visited and securely anchored in had became unusable because the wind patterns had shifted - early indicators of El Niño & La Niña patterns.

Climate is what you expect - weather is what you get.
