I'm watching this Wednesday morning. I remember back when we had music like this, I would listen to a song like Love Train and believe there was hope for the world.

But now, even if I enjoy and smile while listening to the lyrics, although I feel myself moving with the beat, there is an indescribable sadness. Back when music like Love Train was popular, the people of America were poised to really make a difference for the better in the world. Somewhere along the way, America lost its way once and for all, and I think it began with Reagan in the White House.

Maybe that's why so many of us boomers listen to the songs of the '60s and '70s. Even though there was turmoil back then, we at least had hope, and we want to recapture that feeling of hope.
