your speaking about Flu pandemic. I'm speaking about Avian Flu Pandemic. What is far more important is the environment in which we live, in which the birds are living. Not what strain it is. It is the socio-economic political conditions that create climates that can manifest such pandemics, plagues etc.
For much greater justice on this issue than I could ever do it read Lynn Margulis' works on this one of the premier biologists in the world, if you haven't already.
It's okay about lecturing. It's also okay to disagree even vehemently.
A really deep investigation of how this issue got into the media spotlight would be quite revealing. I've done so.
A friend who recently returned from these areas (Avian Fluland) after nearly a year in those environs was really amazed at the hysteria here and the lack of same there.
Good food, good water, good housing, rest, good air (in short good immune system) and your chances of dying from avian flu or any flu (though you may get the flu) are virtually nil.
As for not caring about Rummy's stock it is precisely these sorts of vested interests (which some mistakenly catalogue as 'conspiratorial') which bring these manufactured crises into the media lens. In this way we will be distracted from examining the politics of how we are prevented from having good food, good water, good housing......
