15. I've seen it used more sarcastically
than anything here. Unfortunately, anybody using it seriously is too many. Even the media is at least starting to use "surge" (the quotes are in the media) instead of just surge with no quotes.

I've often gotten upset how we use the term "contractors" or "private contractors" for the people in Iraq. A contractor gives a person the image of the guy who remodels your kitchen or puts a new roof on your house. The real term, however, has a much more negative connotation - and that is "mercenary."
