Youngstown's had it pretty bad. It's a lot like Cleveland; struggling to make it now that industrial plants have closed. I'm always surprised how many people you meet who "used to be" from Youngstown - it's like almost more people have left than stayed. In Youngstown's defense, they did elect a new mayor & have cleaned up a lot the corruption. The local university is actually growing, and the city just built a new Convocation Center. But it's still very sad to drive down an empty Main Street and pass all the beautiful, abandoned, buildings.
