I have to be honest with all of you- not only am I perplexed, I'm pretty annoyed.
I have tried for DAYS to get ahold of either one of them. First by PM (Sent one to each)
and then by email (Sent 2 to each). I've never gotten a response.

I wrote to them asking for permission to raise funds for 3 of our DU friends in need:
Wiley50, ShadowKnows69 and MrScorpio- you can read some of the background here in the original thread.

Not only did I not get permission to do the fundraiser, I was never given the courtesy of a response.

The thing that just breaks my heart is that whenever there is a fund drive here on DU, I give.
I think the last fund drive just a few weeks ago saw me giving $50. Anytime DU needs money, I'm there.
DU survives because of people like us who donate. Skinner and Earl are able to maintain this very site because
people care and donate.

Here we are just days before Christmas and it seems that Skinner and Earl aren't all that concerned with DU members in great need.
I've been deeply touched by all of you that have said I WANT TO DO SOMETHING!
I am appalled by the complete lack of humanity that both Skinner and Earl are showing for members of their own community.

I know that this missive will see me tombstoned... and I really don't care. I don't want to be a member of something that doesn't support it's own in times of need. The lack of even the most basic response just appalls me.

I know that many of you will rally around Skinner and Earl and say they had no choice... blah blah blah. Or say it was a legal issue. I refuse to believe that any reason given warranted both of them refusing to at least RESPOND.

I've been so frustrated by this I had to post something.

I wish all of you a happy and healthy Holiday season. Enjoy your families and stay warm.

Remember that there are others in need, and if you are allowed to give them help (and you have the means) I hope you do so.

All the best
Liz

ON EDIT:

To be fair... I don't think it's that they don't care so much as I think they don't want to be involved- even in the most unofficial way. (By agreeing to allow an inside DU fundraiser for the 3 men)
