| 19. Watching this fine Democratic Senator stick up for farmers is |
|
heartening. However, I think back to the campaign season, and here the farmers had Nussle signs sprouting on their lawns because the GOP had them convinced that the Dems would take away their hunting rifles and their farms. One local farmer painted a billboard sized sign backing Nussle "because we deserve to keep our property when we die." My husband works with farmers who don't even know the names of their representatives, let alone how the legislative process affects them or the markets. One of his coworkers couldn't even name the governor of the state.
