108. Want to see him blush bright red?
When his close friends have teased him about who he wants to play him, he invariably turns a glow-in-the-dark red, and gets completely tongue tied - growing suddenly very interested in his plate of food, or his beer.

Contenders have included (in no particular order):

1. Jake Gyllenhaal

2. Ethan Hawke

3. Heath Ledger (causing David to blush even brighter, if possible, LOL)

4. Leonardo DiCaprio (causing David to roll his eyes and get up from the table, at least once)

Ben Affleck would be a good choice, too. I'm sure they can digitize the dimples, anyway, nowadays.

"It is possible to have one or both cheeks surgically modified to create a dimple. This can cost around $500 per cheek."

(Amazing what people will do to themselves, huh?)

The other thing the actor would have to have: brown eyes (very dark), twinkling full of mischief and full of compassion.

I have a personal favorite on that list, based on the actor's portrayal of another character that I think had similar growth to David's. I think that actor's mastery of that particular role would lend itself well to understanding how David has grown, and the path he took. That's a serious end to a message that is probably going to get me excommunicated.

P.S. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethan_Hawke (His portrayals of the protagonists in Gattaca and Dead Poets' Society would bode well for his grasp of the character here, in my opinion.)
