53. References About Cash Payments To Grossman
OK, I will be careful here. Following the Sibel Edmonds case requires developing a skill of inferring what she seems to be trying to point to but is not allowed to say explicitly.

Sibel has made repeated references to the State Department being the most corrupt branch of government. Before she found a way to bring Grossman's name up without breaking her gag order (she first mentioned Grossman's name to Chris Deliso in November '05), she insisted, according to Daniel Ellsberg, that "people in the State Department take cash" (this is from an untranscribed interview between Ellsberg and Kris Welch of KPFA from Sept. '05).

One more thing, the Vanity Fair article an "Inconvenient Patriot" states the following: "a Turkish official spoke directly to a U.S. State Department staffer. They suggested that the State Department staffer would send a representative at an appointed time to the American-Turkish Council office, at 1111 14th St. NW, where he would be given $7,000 in cash. “She told us she’d heard mention of exchanges of information, dead drops—that kind of thing,” a congressional source says. “It was mostly money in exchange for secrets.”

I don't know if Grossman would qualify as a "staffer". But if he does, that would put him as my top candidate for the taker of the $7,000 bribe.

So basically, I am making the inferrence that Grossman was leaking and he was leaking for financial gain.

I don't have any specific statement from Sibel or anyone else that Grossman took cash bribes. But I have deduced, not with absolute certainty, but with over 50% probability in my estimation, that this is what is alleged to have occurred. But it's open for debate.
