The Democrats (many if not most of them in name only)have allowed for all of our rights as citizens to be imperiled, they have even voted in lock step with Republicans on some of the most damaging pieces of legislation in our history.

The Iraq "War Resolution"
The Bankruptcy Bill
The Military Commissions - not a majority of Democrats, but way too many

so many other laws that I cannot remember at this time

Need I add the judicial appointments, the Supreme Court appointments they have refused to fight?
