Sosobad O'Brien shuts down republican blame-shifter. Almost.

I was a bit shocked to watch, actually...that dopey black "Republican Strategist" (there are strategists behind this mess?!) with the serious lisp was on Cabal News Network this morning, doing his best to minimize the Foley/Hastert debacle by -- of course -- blaming Gerry Studds in 1983, and essentially claiming the Republicans should get a pass on this scandal because "no one was outraged" in 1983 when Studds got busted and censured for banging a page. The most childish but oft-used Republican defense for everything... "But he did it first!" They never even consider the high road. They never consider that perhaps another man getting caught and censured for such reprehensible behavior is NOT equal to a get-out-of-jail-free card. Anyway, Sosobad actually did a decent job of shutting the jerk down, although it is clear he had been to his Rove University training classes -- even as Sosobad was telling him to shut up, he just talked louder, over her, until she finally got some control back and managed to point out how silly and desperate it looked for the Republicans to have to reach back over twenty years in this lame attempt to make this all okay.

It was surprisingly tough for Sosobad. Oh, but wait...

After she slaps him with the desperation comment, she then let the asshole have the last word, which he used to re-read his morning Blast Fax from the Home Office. Oh well...it was fun while it lasted.
