4. It Would NOT Be A Disaster

Iraq is a country made up after WWI. Kind of like Yugoslavia. Several different countries were sort of thrown together. But the people really weren't homogenous enough to really be united, so they were held together by a brutal, authoritarian government. After the Soviet Union collapsed, the Serbs, Albanians and Kosovars were left to their own devices and broke apart again, just like they were before WWI. And everything was great.

Oh, wait a minute. It wasn't great - it was horrible.
