Utah is a "right to work" state. They are not a pro-union or pro-labor state. I worked for the State of Utah, and the Salt Lake Tribune carried on front page an article about how many state workers also received food stamps because their wage could not support the family. Their state income tax is as high as California's, even though you have a majority of Repukes in the state senate. There is a state tax on food and in tourist areas, the state sales tax is over 7.50%.
