Poll: 58% approval rating for Bush among voting machines

WASHINGTON - Despite mounting public criticism of his administration's handling of Iraq and the war on terror, 58 percent of voting machines approve of the way Bush is handling his job according to the latest poll by Shamby and Associates. This is in contrast to the 42% approval rating he has among human beings from polls conducted in the same time period.

"We're very encouraged by these numbers," said Karl Rove, Bush's chief political advisor. "Voting machines across America, especially in the contested Congressional districts, are likely to stand with Bush against the forces of terrorism and extremism this election cycle."

Many political analysts consider these favorable numbers the result of the Republican Party's concerted effort over the past few years to reach out to the voting machine community through their opinion leaders such as Walden O'Dell, even to the detriment of efforts in the human voting community.

"It's rather genius, this strategy," says Karl Hein of ArmageddonPAC, a political action committee devoted to supporting Republican candidates. "There are drawbacks, sure, like in Connecticut where human beings far outnumber voting machines. But in places like Georgia and Ohio, the Republicans are going to be tough to beat due to the high voting machine population."

"It's clear that this important constituency supports freedom and America," said Rove. "And this is definitely good for us come November."
