Georgia's open primaries are why she lost in 2002, probably now as well. Former GOP Governor candidate also backed Johnson, as well as the conservative Georgia Democrats.
Meanwhile the entire civil rights leadership of Atlanta backed her. The people with guts backed her, the people who'd rather see us sit back and shut up backed Johnson.
