If there WAS an exercise why on earth would that not mean we would conveniently have MORE in the air scrambling around? Doing it conveniently away from typical targets so as not to scare routine traffic? But blips on screens fogging up the target areas while the WARPLANES were in Greenland? Some exercise.

Too much convenience and coincidence in too special a unique time frame. Trying to cover up an incredible one in a billion whopping gaffe, if that is what it was, would make it worse had we an actual journalistic public service. Yet it was world news when a lone small plane sailed merrily into Moscow and landed in Red Square. People there were sacked.
