Here is what I said from another posting here:
Couldn't figure out anything about it turning people anti-semite because of it. I suppose if you're one already you'd find something.
The gore was a bit much to take, I must say, but also must say those Friday the 13th or Hallowe'en movies assault my senses in more horrible ways. I suspect Gibson wanted the reality to sink in on the long suffering (no fast clips and on with the 'plot', suffering is the plot, long drawn out like in real life torture, hard to take for the viewer? try being the victim without a fast forward on your remote)
I found that the aramic language was beautiful, so sadly beautiful in a resigned kind of way, especially when Jesus said (para): 'Dad, I don't want to do this, please don't make me' in the Garden of Olives.
And I felt such sorrow for Judas, he was a player needed and used - set up for events to unfold how they had to. I'll never hear the term 'judas' in quite the same way ever again.
