148. My Lebanese Co-Worker
My co-worker is 2nd generation Lebanese (Maronite Christian). His family is from the Bekaa valley, where they're shelling. He's going to a family wedding in Texas this weekend. We were talking about all of this today. His take on it is that it's too late for the Syrians and/or Iranians to stop Hezballah. They're acting on their own now, and they've poked the Israeli dragon with a sharp stick too much. He figures that the problems back in the "Old Country" will supercede any petty family dysfunction that happens to pop up.
