Beginnings Of A Conservative Crackup

George Will has been skeptical of the Iraqi invasion from the beginning. He's a true conservative, not in the sense of a paleoconservative like Pat Buchanan or a neoconservative like Bill Kristol but a conservative in the tradition of Edmund Burke. Burke was not opposed to change but opposed to radical change that showed no respect for tradition or what came before it. That's why he opposed the French Revolution but supported the American Revolution.

In short, George Will unlike the neocons acknowledged that man is not malleable and we need to take him as he is and not the way we want him to be.

Here's the article:

P.S. I linked it from Real Clear Politics because I was too lazy to (re)register at the Washington Post to link it.
