If this happens/happened to many others on this site than it could be valuable information. We know a gazillion people know our personal info from so many different sources that nothing is surprising. Within a year someone had opened a credit card acct. in my name and then someone used my real credit card illegally. Got it straighten out but you feel a bit violated and it takes time and effort to clear those things up.
