Let's help one of our own in a humanitarian effort

The lovely, leggy and talented SeattleGirl wishes to travel to New Orleans and other parts of the Gulf Coast to provide aid and comfort to those still suffering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina and the inexcusable inattention of the Wregime. As caring liberals, I believe it incumbent upon us to not allow her to bear the financial burden of her trip alone, but to share what we can to help those who need our help.

I realize many of us gave of our finances in the weeks after Katrina, while a few even gave of their labors. I'm one of the former, but I feel this is still important enough to have already pledged to help fund SeattleGirl's mission of mercy.

SG has not asked for assistance, even though her own financial situation is not currently a healthy one. She's not the kind to do that — but we are the kind who help those who need it. I've seen it here so many times, and I hope to see it again.
