And I don't believe she had a decent sleep for weeks afterwards. She is furious at Bush because the airline people knew something was up, as early as August ... and knowing that Bush had been given the information but ignored it because he was on holiday is VERY frustrating and disappointing to her.

I've heard of "black humor" being used to alleviate stress, but Bush's comments suggest he was under NO stress at all and didn't understand the seriousness of what was going on (or that he was at the very least partly responsible for how chaotic things were). Imagine, joking about "there's one terrible pilot" as a plane crashed into the WTC ... or even thinking, in subsequent months, that people would find his remark funny.
